FIBER OPTICAL LIGHT BARRIER

Our fiber-optic light barriers are always used when object detection is to take place in areas that are characterized by high ambient temperatures, exposure to dust, moisture, pollution, sparks or the like, or are difficult to access.

If you're not satisfied with off-the-shelf products, you've come to the right place: with fiber optic lengths of up to 25 m and ranges of up to over 20 m, even extreme requirements can be met.

Fiber optic light barriers usually consist of a light sensor (EFS series or FSP60 series) and a fiber optic, which consists of two arms: one each for the transmitting and receiving sides.

The sensor is placed in an unexposed area and the light signal is directed to the measuring point and back (with visual contact) using the fiber optics. The ends of the fiber optics are positioned relative to each other so that they form an optical barrier: when the object to be monitored is absent, this is upright, the light emitted by the sensor is sent back to the sensor; If the object comes into the light beam, it is interrupted and a switching process is triggered.

The fiber optics can be supplied with different protective tubes depending on the environmental conditions and are available with axial (straight) or radial (angled) light emission.

Thanks to the opening angle of the fibers, fiber optic light barriers are very tolerant of lateral displacement and can therefore be set up very easily.
