CHARACTERISTICS AND FUNCTIONING OF THE LIGHT BARRIER
Light barriers work with this Transmitted light principle. The transmitter and receiver are placed separately so that they cover both sides of the area to be detected. In the initial state, the light is sent from the transmitter directly to the receiver, forming the “light barrier” that gives it its name. If an object enters the detection area, the light beam is interrupted and the switching process is triggered. The High-performance light barriers from Sensorik Austria are extremely robust and can also be used in demanding applications and extreme environmental conditions. Aligning the light barriers is extremely easy and does not require any optical aids. Even with an offset of several degrees, reliable functionality is still guaranteed.
A special feature and at the same time an important part of our product range are the fiber optic sensors: for these, one of our high-performance light sensors (EFS series or FSP60 series) is combined with a 2-armed fiber optic, the ends of which form the light barrier. Thanks to the extreme lengths of our fiber optics and the enormous light intensity of the sensors, you can master even extraordinary challenges with our fiber optic light barriers.
